Key Fob Replacements What Dealers Don't Want You to Know

Posted by Keyless Entry Remote on Jun 20th 2013

If you have ever needed a replacement key fob remote you know that dealerships usually charge $100's for these.  After they charge you for the key fob, they turn around and charge you for programming it!  Spending  over a hundred dollars for a remote seems a bit ridiculous to us.  What dealerships do not want you to know is that these remotes can be purchased online for a fraction of the price from websites like ours.  They also don't want you to know that most of these key fob remotes can be programmed in your driveway without any special equipment.  On top of that, these instructions are readily available online for free!

Now unfortunately there are some vehicle models that will require special equipment to program a replacement key fob remote.  However, did you know that some locksmiths have the equipment to do this for you?  It is definitely worth your time to call a few locksmiths in your area to see if they can program a key fob for you, you will save a ton of money that way.

Hopefully these couple tips will save you a trip to the dealership and some money.
