To do this, you will need two keys (but it's OK if you only have one remote).

1.  Put one key in the ignition and turn the switch to the "on" position (don't start the car but rotate the key to the position just before you'd activate the starter; the accessories and instrument panel lights will come on).

2.  Roll down the driver's window (just in case!).

3.  Get out of the car, holding the 2nd key and the remote in your hand.  With the 2nd key (don't use a remote), lock the door from the outside, and leave the key in the door.

4.  With the remote you're programming, press the button to open the door.  Now at this point, the door should unlock, and that your remote would then be programmed.  In some cases, the doors do NOT unlock. However, once the key in the ignition was removed, the remote worked.
