Power windows are great. They allow the driver to control all of the windows with their finger. All they have to do is hold the button that is located on the side of their door up or down to move the window. However, this can distract the driver because they will have to take their eyes off of the road to figure out which window they want to control, and they will have to keep their finger pressed on the button the whole time until it is where they desire it to be.To fix that problem, express-up windows were created. This feature allows the driver to give one little push or pull for the window to roll all the way up or slide all the way down. Of course, another problem arose. When the driver would make one motion to adjust the window, kids would decide to let their arm hang out of the window or an object (such as a chunk of snow or a rock) would be in the way, and it could hurt the kids arm or even damage the window.
So, they fixed that problem too. The auto-reverse feature helps prevent limbs from being jammed or damage to the window. This technology uses a sensor to detect if an object interferes while the window is being raised. It will then automatically roll down to prevent injury.
This feature is programmed to the windows in your vehicle. If your battery goes dead, your window is replaced, or the power window motor is replaced, then the auto-reverse will need to be reprogrammed.
The auto-reverse feature is especially great if you have kids who decide to stick their hand out of the window while you are rolling it up. Safety is always #1!
