Key Fobs and Swimming

Posted by Unknown on Apr 13th 2017

As the weather starts to warm up, it's time to spend your hours outdoors. Camping, fishing, frisbee, and one of the most exciting, swimming! It's time to stock up on towels, sunscreen, maybe even a new swimsuit for the season.

Unfortunately, water and technology do not mix well. Dropping your phone in water will give it a low chance of survival. While we can't help you with your phone, we might be able to help you with your key fob. Whether it's on accident or if it's because you didn't think that water would ruin your key fob, getting it wet could mess it up.

The first thing to do if this happens is to immediately soak it in rice (click here for more instructions on how to soak your key fob in rice). Rice is well known for absorbing water. You have to let your key fob sit in the rice for about 2 days. If this doesn't work, try changing out the battery.

If you can't resuscitate your key fob, your only option is going to be a replacement. Before you go to your car dealership and pay an enormous amount for a new key fob, try www.keylessentryremotefob.com for refurbished, good as new ones! Our customer service department is always eager to help!
