Part 8 – Clamping Track Keys

Instructional Overview

• 01RA Clamp: Used for laser or track cut keys. To install, align the dovetails on the bottom of the clamp with the platform, slide into position, and lock in place with the allen screw on the right side.
• Gauging Methods:
  • Tip Gauging: Most track keys are tip-gauged. Insert the key making sure all cut edges are inside the clamp, but ensuring the tip does not pass the backside of the clamp. The Futura Auto uses automatic tip detection, so no manual tip stop is required.
  • Shoulder Gauging: Insert the shoulder stop gauge into the clamp grooves. Slide the key through until the shoulder butts against the gauge. Tighten the jaw and remove the gauge before operation.
• A45 Adapter: Required for specific two-track keys (like HU66) with side-blade cutouts to ensure the key sits straight. Align the adapter pin with the groove on the front-right of the jaw, then insert and clamp the key.
• Clamping Tip: Always hold the key flat against the bottom of the jaw while tightening to ensure 0.01mm cutting precision.
