Part 6: Cutting Standard or EC Keys
  • From the home page, select search then vehicle keys
    • Select vehicle make and start to type in make, on the right select the vehicle make.
    • Type in the model and select the model on the right.
    • Select the model year
    • You will see a screen that shows the code series for that vehicle
      • Taping the green card button you will see the technical details related to this cutting card, including; depth measurements, spacing measurements, cutting angle and blank dimension.
      • To cut the key by indirect code, select code on the right side, enter the code and search for that code.
        • You will see the cuts for that specific code, select ok.
        • You will see a graphic of what the cut key will look like, along with the key cuts.
        • To cut the key, select cut in the bottom right corner.
        • Information regarding what clamp, cutter and tip stop you should use are shown.
        • Setup the Futura Auto with the clamp, cutter and tip stop shown on the screen.
        • Slide the key on the jaw, all the way against the tip stop, lock into place and remove tip stop tool.
        • Lower the safety shield and select start on the tablet.
        • Once side one is cut, remove key and flip to cut side two.
      • If you do not know the code for the key but you know the cuts, you can select cuts and manually enter the key cuts.
      • To decode a key
        • Select decode and load the key as directed
        • Press start and lower the mobile tracer
      • Manual corrections can be used to make corrections to cuts due to worn keys.
      • Partial cuts can be used with broken keys, enter the known cuts search for possible codes that are used to cut that key.
      • Card options let you adjust the cut type, cutter and clamp.
      • Info card shows what cutter, clamp, clamp side and tip stop point.
      • Queue of job can be used to save and access unfinished jobs.
      • Measurements display space and depth measurements.
